The issue also pointed to the Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN) as a proactive step to reduce identity theft risk.

Public comments requested on a new federal tax credit tied to scholarship organizations. Deadline: December 26, 2025. Effective: January 1, 2027.

Guidance on “Trump Accounts.” Contributions cannot be made before July 4, 2026.

PTIN renewals by December 31, updated 1099-K FAQs, and early prep for the 2026 tax season.
